Catholic Charities is in need of a House Manager to be the lead support for one of our homes. This leadership role involves a blend of direct care shifts and management responsibilities. Our House Manager will be in charge of coordinating services, supporting daily living skills, scheduling medical appointments, and oversees house paperwork. We are looking for a go-getter to be involved in planning outings for clients and being a leader for our team! The ideal candidate will have prior management experience and prior experience working with clients with high medical needs. We are looking for someone with strong organizational skills who can manage the administrative paperwork, provide top-notch care for clients, and support our Program Manager outside of the home.

 

Principal Accountabilities

           Client Services:  Direct Support

  1. Provide assistance with activities of daily living, such as personal care, dietary preferences/menu planning, medication regimen, therapy exercises, money management, and cleaning.
  2. Provide the appropriate level of supervision to each client according to his/her needs. Maintain a detailed knowledge of each client's behavior support plan.  Recognize behavior patterns and respond appropriately to them according to the approved plan.
  3. Maintain accurate, detailed and thorough documentation for each client on a daily basis. Monitor and report deviations in client behavior to the appropriate manager in a timely manner.
  4. Develop a therapeutic relationship with the client and maintain appropriate boundaries.

 

           Client Services:  Indirect

  1. Monitor participant health and medications. Schedule and attend medical appointments with the participant. 
  2. Assist with medical situations if and when the staff needs your assistance. Notify the person's family and/or guardian of the situation.
  3. Serve as on-call responder as scheduled in the on-call rotation. When on duty as on-call staff provide support to staff or clients on an as-needed basis.  Respond immediately to calls on weekdays from 4:30pm to 8:00am, all day on weekends, and all day on designated holidays according to the monthly on-call schedule.

 

 

         Client Services:  Community Integration

  1. Assist client in planning and accessing a wide range of community activities weekly and schedule client transportation as needed.
  2. Assist clients in developing new social supports through hobbies, support groups, and encourage clients to maintain current relationships.

 

         Client Services:  General

  1. Oversee household scheduling and ensure schedule is up to date.
  2. Serve as the main trainer for new staff in the household and provide ongoing coaching on how to best support the client.
  3. Monitor client medications and administration record (MAR) for accuracy and communicate with medical professionals as needed.
  4. Review client paperwork and lists weekly for accuracy and progress updates. Maintain an inventory of household paperwork and supplies and replenish when needed.
  5. Monitor expenditures made for each client and the residence. Track receipts turned in for client purchases.
  6. Maintain an inventory of needed groceries and supplies and shop weekly with the client(s). Ensure that the household stays within the budgeted amount for groceries and supplies. 
  7. Oversee client household maintenance and coordinate needed repairs. Ensure that all standard safety measures and practices are consistently applied in order to provide a residence that is secure and well maintained.  Contact landlord as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications One year of previous experience working with persons with developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges and/or mental health issues is preferred but not required. A car is preferred.
