Catholic Charities in in need of a detail oriented Development Assistant. This position is an important part of our team as you are responsible for gift processing and acknowledgment, maintaining the fundraising database, and assisting members of the Development and Communications Department.

 

Responsibilities

Fundraising / Database

  • Maintain and update all donor records.
  • Enter all donations into database, including in-kind, matching gifts and pledges.
  • Open fundraising mail. Record checks.
  • Prepare bank deposits for all donations. Generate receipts. File supporting documents.
  • Generate all acknowledgement letters sent to donors.
  • Recognition of donations in a timely manner via letters, email and phone.
  • Reconciliation with Finance Department in weekly, monthly and yearly reports or as requested.
  • Maintain database coding, standardization and structure. Insure data integrity.
  • Input changes via donor communication and NCOA report.
  • Research and add prospects and merge duplicate records.
  • Generate mailing lists for all appeals and events.
  • Weekly Fundraising reports for appeals and special projects. Event reports as needed.

Events

  • Record all Development revenues & expenses for events in the Donor Database
  • Provide event support as needed (such as registration, nametags, invoices, mailings...) for Golf Tournament, Faith in Action Celebration, and other fundraising events.
  • Work at Golf and Dinner events as part of the Development Team.

Other

  • Maintain Mail Chimp Lists for Development and Communications.
  • Proofing for Development materials and mailings and grant proposals.
  • Parish bulletin announcements as needed for events, marketing and fundraising.
  • Support Development and Communications Department with special projects as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Must have experience working in a database donor database preferred or Access database.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.  Experience working in not-for-profit organization.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel. 
  • Ability to work independently; handle confidential information; be process oriented and accurate.
  • Manage time and adjust work schedule to meet deadlines and seasonal demands.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.  Strong communication skills and work ethic.

Physical and Other Demands

Duties are performed in a normal office environment.  Position will be at computer for extended periods of time; need to stand for processing of donations and use of office equipment; be able to lift supplies.
