Are you looking for a job where get paid to do recreational activities with some of our amazing Seniors.  We are hiring a Recreation Specialist to help support the physical and social needs of participants in our Adult Day Center program. In this role, you are responsible for facilitation, and evaluation of recreational activities; assisting participants with personal cares; and providing direction to program volunteers. In this role, the focus will be on engagement and fun! You will develop, prepare, and facilitate individual, small, and large group activities for participants in the ADC program! You will make a huge difference in the lives of our clients as you will get to know them and will enrich their lives every day! Qualifications

Education

  • Associate degree in health care or recreation field

Experience

  • One or more years of experience planning and implementing organized recreational activities with older adults who have physical and/or cognitive disabilities, mental health diagnosis, or dementia/Alzheimer's.

About you:

  • You have effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment
  • You can lift 25 to 50 pounds and tolerate medium to high physical effort including walking, standing, stooping, squatting, bending, reaching, pushing, and /or pulling.
  • You can follow the care plans and follow directions.
  • You are comfortable with assisting with personal cares and activities of daily living skills.
  • You can change gears quickly and work with participants who may need a little extra help participating.
  • You are friendly, personable, and will have a positive attitude!
