Catholic Charities has an exciting opportunity working at the Beacon in downtown Madison! Our Program Manager of our NEW Housing Navigating Service will provide an integral part of our talented team at the Beacon, Madison's one and only Homeless Day Center. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the challenges the Madison homeless population faces as it relates to housing. You will be responsible for supervising staff AND helping a much needed population it the Madison area. 

 

Program Management

 

  1. Coordinates and supervises the daily operations of the Housing Navigation Services program.
  2. Monitors service delivery for quality and effectiveness.
  3. Identifies areas of need for program development and implements changes for efficiency, effectiveness, and to ensure all aspects of the program operate in compliance with quality standards set by accreditation agency. Reports goals and progress as requested by the Executive Director of Programs.
  4. Assists the Executive Director of Programs in monitoring program revenue and expenses.
  5. Assists the Executive Director of Programs to utilize opportunities to market the program.
  6. Participates in quarterly Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) File Review. Ensures that program is in accordance with COA and PQI standards.
  7. Enhances skills and stays up-to-date on current research and best practices in the area of housing accessibility through ongoing educational opportunities and training.
  8. Generates, updates, and maintains client's files.
  9. Generates, updates, and maintains program documentation and statistics.

 

General Management

  1. Assists Executive Director of Programs in interviewing and hiring staff.
  2. Supervises all Housing Navigation Services staff.
  3. Provides ongoing training and education to Housing Navigation Services staff through supervision meetings, in-service trainings, and additional support as needed.
  4. Works closely with the County on development and ongoing operation of the program.
  5. Approves and monitors staff wages, salaries, hours, and duties that determine eligibility for compensation and benefits.
  6. Attends quarterly Partner Meetings at The Beacon.
  7. Assists staff outside of regular business hours with emergency situations involving clients, as needed.

 

Professional Operations

  1. Oversees the development of housing navigation materials and services produced by the Housing Specialists/Educators and Website Data Specialist.
  2. Works as a housing specialist/case manager with individuals to match with housing resources and services.
  3. Provides resources and support to clients.
  4. Responds to client and staff concerns/issues timely and effectively.

 

Qualifications

  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in social work or another human services field.
  • Previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Previous experience working with homeless individuals and housing accessibility.
  • Knowledge of ethical standards and client rights in human services preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge required in conducting assessments and arranging services for individuals experiencing housing challenges.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is required.
