The Beacon, Madison's first and only Day Resource Center for our Homeless Guests is in search of a Security Guard. Our Security Guard will protect Beacon property, staff, volunteers, and guests by maintaining a safe and security environment. Our Security Guard will have strong communication skills - both written and verbally and will create detailed incidents reports, suspension logs, and other relevant program paperwork. This role will involve patrolling the Beacon and the parameter once an hour and will be responsible for picking up trash and ensuring the neighborhood is safe and secure. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable standing, walking, or climbing stairs for up to 8 hours day and be able to lift up to 40 pounds. If you are able to work in a high stress environment and are looking for a challenging and rewarding career, this position is for you. This position is going to start part time, at 24 hours a week. 

Qualifications: 
Must have a High School Diploma (or HSED, GED)
1-2+ years of experience working in security a plus
Must have a valid Driver's license
Must be able to handle crisis situations in a cool and calm manner.
Strong understanding of trauma informed care is a must. 
Constant mental alertness and attention to detail in a loud environment a must.
