Catholic Charities of Madison is seeking a part-time (up to 15 hours/week), masters-level Group Facilitator for their Choices program, an established school-based AODA prevention program for middle school youth. The Group Facilitator will facilitate a 10-week skill-based group curriculum for at-risk students at various Dane County middle school sites. The activity-based group focuses on leadership, teamwork, and basic brain functioning, and teaches students how best to care for their brain during this key stage of development. The Group Facilitator will facilitate multiple groups at various participating Dane County middle schools. The Group Facilitator will also provide outreach to middle schools who do not yet utilize the group, to share about the program and increase school participation. This field-based position is a 10 month per year position (based on the school year calendar), and offers supportive supervision, a flexible schedule, and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Dane County youth. Applicants must have a completed master's degree (in substance abuse counseling, social work, counseling, or related field), have direct experience working with youth, have 36+ hours of substance abuse training (within a master's program class or other setting) and some experience leading groups. A SAC license and experience working in the school setting are preferred, but not required.
