Our Adult Day Center located on the east side of Madison is in need of an experienced C.N.A. to join their team! This position involves providing personal care assistance for adults attending our day programing. We are looking for someone with a positive can-do attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for working with aging adults. It is rare to find a Monday - Friday AM shift working in healthcare. This full time position comes with benefits, no mandates, no weekends, holidays off, and a fun and friendly team oriented environment.

Principle Accountabilities

Client Services

  1. Assist participants with personal cares and activities of daily living as outlined in individualized care plan.
  2. Provide daily assist with the implementation of proper use of body mechanics with participant's mobility, transfer, and safety needs.
  3. Monitor and report changes in participant's condition and behavior to appropriate staff and formal supports in a timely and accurate manner.
  4. Ensure a person-centered approach by taking into account each participant's abilities, preferences and needs.
  5. Establish a supportive relationship with each participant and their supports.
  6. Participate in team meetings addressing participant's progress with individualized goals and outcomes.
  7. Participate in ongoing training and professional development as outlined in DHS annual continuing education standards and Catholic Charities Adult Day Center program manual.
  8. Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner according to DHS, COA, and Catholic Charities Adult Day Center standards.



  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a Certified Nurse Aide program receiving certification.
  • Certification is current and in good standings on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry.


  • One or more years experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant working with older adults who have physical and/or cognitive disabilities, mental health diagnosis, or dementia/Alzheimer's.


  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced team environment
  • Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds and tolerate medium to high physical effort including walking, standing, lifting, stooping, squatting, bending, reaching, pushing and /or pulling.
  • Ability to follow directions, organize and prioritize work assignments.
  • Ability to collaborate and problem solve with co-workers to ensure quality care.
  • Ability to understand and follow individual participant care plans
  • Knowledge and experience with personal cares.
  • Ability to respectfully approach and provide positive redirection for individuals who have various diagnoses.
  • Ability to be flexible and meet the needs of participants and the program.
  • Excellent time management skills
