Catholic Charities is adding a seasoned Part-Time Recruiter to our HR team. We are seeking an individual who wants to be a part of an organization that focuses on improving the lives of others. This position offers approximately 20 hours per week and a flexible schedule.

Basic Function

This position will work closely with all members of the HR team providing support in the areas of recruitment and staffing, new hire onboarding, and assisting with data entry in the HRIS system. Additional duties may include reviewing and processing various personnel documents, filing and organization, project support, and other administrative services supporting the workforce.

Principal Accountabilities

Human Resources Support

  • Supports the recruitment process by:
    • Sourcing candidates using online resources and on-the-ground efforts with local colleges, community-based organizations, and job fairs.
    • Posting exempt and non-exempt vacant positions internally and externally to appropriate internet sources.
    • Screening applications and evaluating if they meet the positions' requirements, conducting phone screens, and recommending candidates to hiring supervisors/managers for follow-up interview.
    • Processing pre-employment background and DOT screens and performing references checks as needed.
    • Performing 1st day onboarding with new hires.
    • Assisting with entering new hire information in HRIS system - Kronos/UKG.
  • Develops relationships with department leaders and referral sources to determine open needs and successful placements
  • Assists with data entry of new hire information in the HRIS system - Kronos/UKG.
  • Reviews, processes, and maintains personnel files in accordance with applicable laws.

Project and Administrative Support

  • Serves as back-up to Operations Manager on the facilitation of building-related onboarding of new hires.
  • Provides project support within the Human Resources department as needed.


  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  • Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making capabilities.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to recruitment is a plus.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Recruiting experience is strongly preferred.
  • Utilization of social media tools and job boards is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of HRIS system, preferably Kronos/UKG, is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
